2027: Oyo APC Leaders, Stakeholders Endorse Adelabu’s Governorship Ambition

Party leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from across the seven geopolitical zones of Oyo State on Tuesday unanimously endorsed the governorship aspiration of Chief Adebayo Adelabu following his official declaration to contest the 2027 governorship election.

The historic gathering, which was held at the Jogor Event Centre, Ibadan, before the movement to the Liberty Stadium for the official declaration of intention to contest, witnessed an overwhelming turnout of party chieftains, youth groups, women leaders, professionals and grassroots mobilisers drawn from all parts of the state.

Among those in attendance are: Baba Muftau Adisa Gbayawu, Alhaji Wale Sanusi, Alhaji Abu Gbadamosi, representative of Hosea Agboola (Halleluyah), Chief Kunle Sanda, Alhaji Wale Sanusi, Alhaji Isiaka Alimi, Alhaji Adeleke Bello Oladeji, (BAO), Chief Goke Oyetunji, Deacon Adedayo Adeola Alhaji Jelili Oyinloye, Hon (Chief) Lekan Adeyemo, former Association of Local Government Chairmen in Oyo State (ALGON), Bashorun.

Speakers at the meeting took turns to express confidence in the leadership capacity, political experience and administrative competence of Chief Adelabu, describing him as the candidate best positioned to lead the APC to victory and deliver purposeful governance to the people of Oyo State.

The stakeholders, speaking in one voice, noted that Adelabu possesses the vision, character and broad acceptability needed to reposition the state and unite the party ahead of the next governorship election.

They commended his track record in public service, his contributions to national development and his longstanding commitment to the progress of Oyo State, stressing that the massive support demonstrated at the meeting reflected the mood of party members across the state.

The meeting resolved to mobilise support at the grassroots and work collectively towards ensuring the success of Chief Adelabu’s governorship bid.

The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm and optimism as party supporters openly declared their readiness to stand firmly behind the aspiration of Adelabu.

The stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to the unity, growth and electoral success of the APC in Oyo State.

Speaking, Adelabu who appreciated the stakeholders, said the gathering should see what is happening as a battle for the soul of the progressives in the state.

He enjoined all progressive- minded party faithful to work together to pick an acceptable candidate.
