First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is expected to headline a mega political rally being organised by the North Central chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Saturday, October 10, 2026.
The rally is aimed at demonstrating the support of APC stakeholders across the North Central region for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima in the 2027 general elections.
The event will be hosted by the Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule.
The development followed a high-level meeting of North Central APC stakeholders held in Abuja on Thursday and chaired by the party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe.
The meeting was attended by Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume; governors and deputy governors from the region; ministers; members of the National Assembly; and other political office holders.
Briefing journalists after the meeting, Yilwatda said governors, ministers, legislators and other political leaders from the North Central had agreed to mobilise their respective political structures and supporters for the Lafia rally.
He described the gathering as the “mother of all rallies,” saying it was intended to demonstrate the region’s collective commitment to the Tinubu/Shettima ticket ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to him, the meeting also provided an opportunity for stakeholders to coordinate their activities and strengthen grassroots engagement across the region.
The APC chairman commended Akume for bringing together political stakeholders from the North Central and praised Governor Sule for agreeing to host the rally in Nasarawa State.
He also welcomed the participation of the First Lady as the headline guest at the event.
The stakeholders reviewed arrangements for the participation of party leaders, women, youth groups, grassroots organisations and supporters from the six North Central states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The meeting ended with a reaffirmation by the participating stakeholders of their commitment to the successful hosting of the Lafia rally and their support for the re-election bid of President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima.
Earlier, Yilwatda expressed condolences to the families of victims of the recent Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash in Ondo State and those who lost their lives in the recent mining-related tragedy in Niger State.
He sympathised with the affected families and communities, describing the incidents as painful losses.
The Lafia rally is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2026.
