Ahead of the 2027 general election, a group has emerged in Southern Kaduna, pressing for the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff Gen Christopher Gwabin Musa, to represent the people of Southern Kaduna Senatorial Zone in the Senate.
The quest is being championed by the Christopher Gwabin Musa (CGM) Vanguard 2027, which represents men, women and youth across the region.
They described the retired Chief of Defence Staff as a leader of integrity, compassion and vision.
In a statement issued yesterday, the national coordinator of CGM Vanguard, Hon. Baba Ransome Adamu, said “Gen. Musa is not just a soldier; he is a man of peace, unity and purpose.”
Adamu noted that “Under his leadership, Nigeria experienced relative peace, improved military professionalism and renewed confidence in our national security institutions.”
He described Gen. Musa as a true son of Southern Kaduna, “humble despite his achievements, approachable despite his rank and fair even in moments of national challenge.
“For many across the senatorial zone, his name represents hope and healing in a region long yearning for unity, peace and development, he said.”
“As 2027 approaches, Southern Kaduna stands at a defining moment,” the statement continued. “We need a leader who can unite, not divide; who can negotiate, not impose; and who can speak truth with wisdom and conviction. General Musa embodies these qualities,” he said.
According to him,” the call is not about politics but about a purpose, a continuation of a life of service that has already benefited the nation.
“General Musa has already given Nigeria peace,” said Hon. Adamu. “Now, we believe he can give his people representation.”
With strong grassroots mobilisation already underway, the CGM Vanguard 2027 is positioning itself as a people-powered platform to promote peace, unity and leadership with integrity across Southern Kaduna.
The group’s slogan captures the spirit of their movement: “From Peacekeeping to Nation Building — CGM 2027.”
