2027: Tinubu, Akpabio Endorse Gov Eno For 2nd Term

Nigeria’s president, Bola Tinubu, the Senate president Godswill Akpabio, have applauded Governor Umo Eno – led administration, and vowed to back his bid for second term in 2027.

Describing governor Eno, as a man of remarkable, visionary and impactful leadership, President Tinubu, noted the proliferation of physical infrastructure and other good governance imprints as major recommendations in his scorecard.

The president made the pronouncement during the reception held after the funeral of late Deaconess Eno Nnana Usoro, mother of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Deputy Governor (Operations), Emem Usoro, at Four-Point by Sheraton Hotel, Ikot Ekpene local government area at the weekend.

Represented by the vice president, Senator Kashim Shettima, he acknowledged governor Eno’s great sense of humility, exemplary leadership, and sense of unity which had led to steady developments in the state.

Besides, President Tinubu, while commiserating with Ms Usoro, noted the exceptional virtues of the late matriarch, noting that she epitomised a great story of grace, faith, generosity and service to humanity.
He noted that these virtues was exemplified in her compassion to others and her family which she raised not just to succeed, but to serve, as could be seen in her daughter, Ms Emem Usoro, who, according to him, is demonstrating a great legacy of service to the nation.

Speaking separately at the palace of the Oku Ibom Ibibio and Paramount Ruler of Nsit Ubium LGA, Ntennyin Solomon Etuk, the Senate president, Godswill Akpabio, re-echoed the same sentiment, vowing to stand with governor Eno, in his second term quest.

“We are solidly behind Governor Umo Eno. I will support him 100 percent to succeed as a second term governor,” and commended the monarch for his peaceful disposition to unity and ethno-political harmony in the state.

“Let me thank you for being a peace loving father. You are a man of peace. The most costly peace is better than the cheapest war. I made an appeal to him without seeing him physically and he listened to me and today, there is peace in Akwa Ibom State.

“Kindly extend my greetings to your son, my governor and our leader, Pastor Umo Eno, another man of peace, who not only say it, but does it.”

“My visit to this Palace today, is a major reconciliation move and will rekindle peace, love and unity in Akwa Ibom State. Akwa Ibom State under Governor Umo Eno is united because of his decision to link us to the centre by joining the All Progressives Congress (APC). Let me assure you that I will support him 100 percent to succeed as a second term governor.

“Don’t listen to nay -sayers and blackmailers. We are solidly behind him and that was why immediately he joined the the APC, I personally handed over the structure of the party in the state to him, because when I was the governor I controlled the structure. I will continue to work for the peace, unity and development of Akwa Ibom State,” he declared.

Responding, Governor Umo Eno celebrated Ms Usoro on her impressive capacity to draw distinguished Nigerians, including Vice President Shettima, to the sate for the funeral of her mother.

Governor Eno, on behalf of the government and people of the state, registered his condolences to the Usoro family, urging them to take solace with the fact that their late mother lived an impactful life to the growth of humanity and glory of God.

He, therefore, extended his hands of fellowship to President Tinubu and Akpabio, pledging uncompromised ties with the centre for more supports for the dividends of democracy to thrive in Akwa Ibom.
