A veteran journalist and senior special assistant (SSA) on Media and Publicity to the APC national chairman, Alhaji Yusuf Dingyadi, has assured President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of at least 80 per cent of votes from Sokoto State in the 2027 general elections.

Dingyadi spoke on Sunday at Dundaye Town, headquarters of Dundaye District in Wamakko local government area during an empowerment programme for 300 indigents.

It was organised by the managing director of the Sokoto State Media Corporation (SSMC), Alhaji Labaran Lumo Dundaye (Sardaunan Dundaye).

“We have no doubt that we will win elections. By the grace of God, APC is going to win the state House of Assembly, the House of Representatives, the Senate, the governorship, and the Presidency. Of the 100 per cent, we will get at least 80 per cent of all votes to be cast.

“The North-West has almost over 20 million votes and we are assured of getting not less than 15 million,” the former BBC Hausa Service Correspondent declared.

He said the party had put all mechanisms in place for victory, with committees at the ward, zonal and national levels, adding that the APC presidential campaign will be flagged off on October 24th in Kaduna.

Dingyadi, who commended the SSMC Managing Director for distributing an undisclosed amount of cash to 300 APC supporters drawn from Dundaye, Gumburawa and Gidan Bubu Districts, described the gesture as true leadership.

“I commend and appreciate Sir Labaran Lumo Dundaye. He has done a lot. This is one of the things we want our politicians and those in power to be doing in their localities.

“Bringing people close to them, helping them, supporting them and empowering them. This is one of the aspects of leadership,” he said.

He noted that Nigerians should complement the government’s efforts rather than waiting for the government alone to provide all social amenities.

In his remarks, Alhaji Labaran Lumo Dundaye said the financial assistance was aimed at complementing the efforts of Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto in improving the welfare of the people and alleviating their suffering.

He called on the people of the state to support President Tinubu, Governor Aliyu, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko and all APC candidates in 2027.

“Tinubu and Ahmed Aliyu have done a lot. The Governor of Sokoto is now the best-performing governor in Nigerian political history. President Tinubu has constructed many projects in northern Nigeria.

“It is now payback time. It is time for us to give back what the government has done for us,” the Sardaunan Dundaye stated.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Wamakko Local Government Council, Hon. Umar Ahmad Dundaye, commended the Managing Director for the gesture, describing it as worthy of emulation, and urged the people of the area to remain united and support the APC.

Other speakers, including the APC Assistant State Financial Secretary, Alhaji Sani Dalla Dalla, the party Chairman in the area, Alhaji Ruwa Umar Nabana, and the Manager, Social Media and ICT of the Sokoto State Media Corporation, Siraju Bello Gumburawa, described the initiative as commendable and urged beneficiaries to use the support judiciously.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the donor and pledged their continued support for the APC.
