The New Telegraph Newspaper Governor of the Year 2023 Award was on Friday presented to Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State at a ceremony held in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The award was in recognition of his achievements in the health infrastructure, which the newspaper described as a commendable feat after highlighting the governor’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the wellbeing of the citizens of Bauchi State.

According to a statement issued by the governor’s media aide, Mukhtar Gidado, and made available to journalists in Bauchi weekend, New Telegraph Newspaper explained that the award was in recognition of the governor’s exemplary leadership and dedication to advancing the healthcare sub-sector in Bauchi State.
It was also in recognition of his commitment to improving health infrastructure, implementation of effective health policies, payment of counterpart funding and ensuring access to quality healthcare services through partnership with donor organisations which garnered well-deserved attention and recognition both within and outside the country.
