No fewer than 250 youths have received training on solar energy technologies provided by Adamawa southern senatorial lawmaker, Binos Yaroe.

The Solar PV technologies training includes installation, maintenance and repairs.

Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hon. Neido Geoffrey Kofulto, said the youth need to be equipped with modern technologies like solar energy to enable them to be in tune with the changing times.

Neido said that what Senator Binos has been doing is in line with the Fintiri-led administration’s empowerment programme, adding that the training-in-question would go a long way in alleviating poverty in the land.

In her words, “This is not the first time that Senator Binos is rolling poverty out of Adamawa Southern Senatorial District. We are in the world of scientific and technological advancement, and this is part of the technology that our people need to learn.

“The power grid of Nigeria has failed us. So in this particular time, the solar energy training is one of the best things in the society, and it is happening in Adamawa Southern Senatorial Zone”.

The commissioner commended Senator Binos for giving women a sense of belonging in the training as 60 female solar engineers are in the making in Adamawa South in the next four days.

She disclosed that with the massive employment on the way by the Adamawa State government, a need would arise for the inclusion of solar engineers who would maintain solar installation across the 21 LGAs.

Also speaking, the senator representing Adamawa Southern Senatorial District, Senator (Rev) Binos Dauda Yaroe, said that his decision to sponsor and empower the youth was borne out of his desire to ensure that the young people become useful to themselves, their families, and society as a whole.

Represented by his former Campaign director general, Mr Katawan Boniface, the senator pointed out that the participants were carefully selected irrespective of religious or tribal backgrounds across the nine LGAs.
