3 Feared Dead, Others Injured as Truck Rams Into Shops In Gombe

At least three people are feared dead and several others injured after a trailer transporting goods reportedly lost its brakes and crashed into shops and pedestrians in Gombe.

The accident occurred at the New Mile 3 area of Gombe town on Wednesday, when the trailer was travelling along the Gombe-Yola road.

Eyewitnesses explained that the truck driver attempted to avoid causing a larger tragedy by diverting the vehicle from its path. However, the truck rammed into several vehicles, roadside shops and people close to the scene.

Reports indicated that seven people were hit by the trailer during the crash, with three victims said to have died on the spot, while others sustained varying degrees of injuries.
