The spokesperson for the Zamfara State Police Command, ASP Yazid Abubakar, confirmed the incident during a phone interview with Channels Television.

“Yes, there was an incident this morning in Tsafe,” he stated. “The bandits entered the town, there were casualties, but I can’t confirm the figures now. I’m still waiting for the DPO of Tsafe to give a full situation report. What I can confirm to you now is that the military and the police engaged the terrorists in a gun battle and the area is calm now.”

Further details revealed that the Tsafe Police Division took immediate action to ensure safety.

“The DPO of Tsafe gathered his officers on duty and locked the police station, preventing people from entering the place for shelter,” explained the PPRO.

Troops from Operation Hadarin Daji were also deployed promptly and managed to drive the bandits back into the forest after a fierce gun duel. The military response helped restore normalcy in the area shortly after the attack.

Authorities were yet to release a full report on the casualties. The situation remains tense, and law enforcement agents continued to monitor the area closely.
