Security forces have eliminated four bandits and rescued two abducted victims in Aboki community of Kaiama local government area of Kwara State.
Sources said security forces were mobilised following reports of a kidnapping incident in the community on Tuesday night.
“Five bandits attacked the community to kidnap the victims. They took one Alhaji Tukur, but the security agents neutralised four of the bandits, while one of them escaped with gunshot injuries.
“Alhaji Tukur and another victim were freed without injuries,” a local source said.
LEADERSHIP reports that the security forces have scaled up response time as the government doubles down in the anti-kidnapping campaign nationwide.
The development comes as a new army battalion has been approved for Omu-Aran in Ifelodun local government area of Kwara State, a strategic step to strengthen the campaign against terrorism and banditry in the Kwara South axis.
