First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has said it is strengthening support for Nigeria’s healthcare sector with financial solutions designed to help healthcare providers expand infrastructure, acquire modern medical equipment, improve working capital and enhance operational efficiency.
The bank said the initiative underscores its commitment to unlocking capital for sustainable healthcare growth and will be a major focus of the inaugural FCMB Healthcare Summit, scheduled for July 28 in Lagos.
Speaking ahead of the summit, the managing director and chief executive officer of FCMB, Yemisi Edun, said sustainable healthcare delivery requires more than clinical excellence, stressing that access to finance, sound business management, strategic partnerships and long-term investment are essential for the sector’s growth.
Edun said the bank is committed to providing financial solutions that support healthcare providers as they expand infrastructure, acquire modern equipment, strengthen working capital and improve operational efficiency.
She noted that the summit would provide a platform for healthcare operators, financiers, investors, policymakers, development partners and industry experts to identify practical financing and partnership opportunities that would strengthen healthcare businesses and improve healthcare outcomes across the country.
The summit, themed “Financing Growth: Unlocking Opportunity, Building the Future of Healthcare,” will focus on access to capital, investment readiness, governance, partnerships and strategies for building sustainable healthcare businesses.
Minister of State for Health, Dr. Iziaq Salako, is expected to deliver the keynote address on “The Future of Healthcare Financing in Nigeria,” highlighting the financing and delivery priorities shaping the sector.
FCMB said it will also showcase its healthcare-focused financial solutions during a dedicated “Financing Healthcare Growth” session, where participants will explore funding options for infrastructure expansion, equipment acquisition, digital transformation, working capital and long-term business growth.
The bank noted that Nigeria’s healthcare sector continues to grapple with infrastructure deficits, rising operating costs, foreign-exchange pressures, workforce shortages, and limited access to investment capital.
Also expected to speak at the summit is the President of the Healthcare Federation of Nigeria, Mrs. Njide Ndili, who will deliver an industry address on “Building a Stronger Private Healthcare Sector: Leadership, Collaboration and Sustainable Financing for the Future.”
Health Business Academy for Africa (HBA) is the technical partner for the summit, providing strategic advisory support and industry expertise.
