Four aspirants cleared to participate in the Kwara State All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary for Ilorin East/Ilorin South Federal Constituency have adopted a former Commissioner for Works, AbdulQawiy Olododo, as consensus candidate.
The decision of the aspirants to step down for Olododo followed a consultation meeting by elders and stakeholders in Ilorin East Local Government Area, which held on Saturday.
The aspirants who stepped down for Olododo are Ambassador Tajudeen Ibraheem Olesin, former Commissioner for Agriculture Dr. Afeez Abolore, Hon. Babatunde Ajadi Yakubu (Prudent), and Hon. Mashood Gobir.
The four aspirants pledged their full support for the consensus candidate in the ongoing primaries in the constituency and in the 2027 general elections.
This medium reports that nine aspirants, including the incumbent, Dr. Yinka Aluko, currently in the Green Chamber, are contesting for the Ilorin East/Ilorin South Federal Constituency ticket.
