Two truckloads of rice provided by the federal government were distributed to 436 groups in Kaduna on Wednesday.

A total of 2,400 25kg bags of local rice were distributed by the Arewa Youth Forum (AYF), the leadership of the benefiting groups and was supervised by its executive and chairman board of trustees.

In an interview with newsmen on the sideline of the distribution, former president of AYF and now chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT), Hon. Gambo Ibrahim Gujungu, said the trucks of rice were delivered to the forum late Tuesday.

“The bags of rice are palliatives from the federal government through the Federal Ministry of Finance to cushion the effect of the hardship Nigerians are facing. It is a demonstration of the commitment of the federal government in cushioning the hardship Nigerians are facing,” he said.

President of AYF, Alhaji Mohammed Ahmed Zagi, said the bags of rice were being distributed to grass roots groups.
