The Al- Hikmah University, Ilorin, Kwara State will on January 7, 2025 graduate 2,211 students, with 47 of them bagging First Class degrees.
The vice chancellor of the university, Prof. Noah Yusuf disclosed this yesterday during a pre-convocation press conference held at the Adeta- Ilorin campus of the university.
He said that the pioneer Islamic faith- based university is graduating 1,748 undergraduate students of which 47 bagged first class, 736 second Class (upper division) and another 886 lower division.
Yusuf added that 79 students bagged third class while 283 will be graduating with Master’s degrees.
“Among the graduating students are 79 with Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) another 79 passed our Post-Graduate Degree (PGD ) and 59 ordinary Diploma,” Yusuf said.
Yusuf hinted that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abass, would deliver the convocation lecture on December 31, 2024, while Governor Babangana Zulum of Borno State would deliver a lecture marking the university’s 20th anniversary on January 7, 2025.
The vice chancellor who stated that it is the first time the institution has turned out such a number of graduates recalled that, ” the school that started with 70 students and three faculties in January 2005 has increased to over 11,000 students including undergraduates, post-graduates and diploma students, as well as seven faculties with the hope to operate from three sites.”
Expressing delight about the achievements of the institution, Yusuf announced that : “Al-Hikmah University shall soon start operating from Atere( Ilorin ) and Igbaja, Ifelodun local government area just as we have here in Adeta.”
