A total of 500 residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have benefitted from a two-day free test and treatment organised by the management of Success Hospital and Maternity Limited in Gwagwa, a community in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).
The free test covered high blood pressure, sugar levels, and others.
Among the beneficiaries was the vice chairman of the Okada Riders Association in the area, Nurudeen Alabi, who confirmed that the test and treatment were done free of charge.
He enjoined the government to carry out such activities intermittently for ordinary Nigerians.
Alabi commended the hospital management for the gesture, stressing that conducting medical tests on hundreds of people and giving them free drugs was a laudable project.
In an interaction with journalists at the hospital, its manager, Chief Jones Mba, Dr Suleiman Yaqub, and a midwife, Juliet Obute said they have been carrying out such gestures as a social responsibility to assist the government in its efforts to ensure that free medication gets to the people in rural areas.
