In a release by the chairperson, Michael Ugwuene, and the secretary Charles Osodeke, the branch listed the universities to include Kogi State University, Anyamgba, and Federal University of Technology, Owerri.

Others are Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu University, Igbariam; Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki; Lagos State University, Ojoo; and Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.

The release, obtained by LEADERSHIP in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, yesterday, reads in part: “Our colleagues have been unjustly sacked; their salaries withheld for inexplicable reasons.”

The release further lamented, “ASUU MOUAU hereby condemns in strong terms the unwarranted victimisation, intimidation, and persecution being meted to our colleagues in those universities. ”

“ASUU MOUAU is using this release to reaffirm her support for ASUU NEC in condemning these obnoxious and faceless actions of the university administrations where our colleagues are subjected to all kinds of inhumane treatment,” it said.

The branch, which commended the colleagues for their firm and continued stand on justice, fairness, and equity urged them to remain resolute on their demands.

“ASUU MOUAU calls on visitors and stakeholders of the universities to urgently wade into the situation to address the issues being perpetrated by their vice chancellors in the interest of peace,” it added.
