The All Progressives Congress (APC) Concerned Youth for Unity and Good Leadership has faulted the suspension of  senator-elect in Taraba South, David Jimkuta and the expulsion of Chief David Sabo Kente by the former APC chairman Taraba State chapter, Hon. Ibrahim El-Sudi.

Addressing a press conference in Kaduna, the group said it observed the development with dismay, adding that Hon. El-Sudi was unanimously removed from office by the party’s state exco before the last general elections due to allegations against him and  in defence of democratic norms and values in Taraba State as he was hell-bent in causing disaffection and rancour among  party leaders in the state.

According to Comrade Jamilu Bawa, the national coordinator of the group, Ibrahim El-Sudi does not have the power to suspend or expel anyone from APC.

“The party is not his private property; therefore, he cannot be the alpha and omega in the party. His purported suspension of Jimkuta and expulsion of Chief David Sabo Kente is a joke taken too far.

“We are using this medium to remind him that he cannot give what he does not have. He remains suspended from our party and as such does not have the legal power or instrument to make such unguarded pronouncement that Chief David Sabo Kente is expelled from APC while JimKuta is suspended.

“Ibrahim El-Sudi should know that his actions and pronouncement are totally unconstitutional, null and void because he has breached the constitutional rights of both Chief David Sabo Kente and David Jimkuta to fair-hearing.

“Chief David Sabo Kente and David Jimkuta have invested a lot in our party. They campaigned vigorously for our president- elect in Taraba South. They organised a zonal rally for him in Taraba South which was well attended by the party faithful,” he said.

Meanwhile, a factional chairman of the party in the Taraba State yesterday called on security agencies to arrest El-Sudi for recommending the actions against Jimkuta David and David Sabo Kente.

Hon. James Amadu who made the call at a press conference in Jalingo while responding to the purported suspension of David Jimkuta and expulsion of chief David Sabo Kente by the El-Sudi-led executive said Barr. El-Sudi lacks the power to issue such order as he was legally removed from office by the state executive of the party on Feb. 10, 2023.

The El-Sudi-led executive had on Monday addressed a press conference announced the actions against them over alleged anti- party activities in the last general elections.
