Gov Bago Promises Business Unusual, To Tackle Insecurity

Predecessor absent at inauguration

The newly sworn-in Governor of Niger State, Rt. Hon. Umar Mohammed Bago, has said that his government will tackle perennial security challenges confronting the State for economic prosperity.

Bago, who also promised that it will be business unusual, spoke after being sworn-in as Niger State governor.

The new deputy governor, Comrade Yakubu Garba, earlier took his oath office at about 11:30am and the governor followed at about midday.

The oaths were administered by the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik.

Speaking after taking oath of office at the inauguration ceremony that had the outgoing Governor Abubakar Sani-Bello represented by the outgoing Deputy Governor, Ahmed Mohammed Ketso, the tough-talking Bago promised to protect and work to deliver the mandate of the people thus it will be business unusual.

Bago, who spoke amid cheers fro the crowd, said all the stakeholders must come out from their comfort zones to ensure that they work for the transformation of the state.

LEADERSHIP, however, observed that a former Governor of the State, Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu of opposition PDP was in attendance, indicating a birth of new political alliance in the state.
