Three men who were convicted of raping women they had lured to a fake cosmetic surgery clinic and injected with anesthetic drugs have been executed in Iran.
One of the men, a medical assistant, had lured seven victims to the fake clinic with “false advertisements” for cosmetic procedures posted online, then injected them with an anesthetic drug and raped them.
The three men who raped multiple women in an unauthorized beauty salon were hanged in Bandar Abbas prison, Iran on Tuesday.
The other two convicts, both nurses, were hanged over five cases of rape, as well as charges relating to the theft of the drugs.
About three months ago, a court in Iran sentenced five men to death for gang raping a woman.
According to human rights group Amnesty International, Iran has the second highest number of executions in 2022 after China. Not less than 582 people were executed in Iran last year.
