The National Council for Civil Society Organisations (NACCSO) and Vision-One Leadership Development Initiative (VOLDI), have expressed satisfaction on the recent appointments of Service Chiefs, which cut across the six geo-political zones of Nigeria.

This was made known by the Director General of the Council, Comrade Emmanuel Johnny, during a CSO and NGO Stakeholders Congress in Abuja.

According to Johnny, President Bola Tinubu has done well in his 100 days in office in the area of security reform by appointing credible and competent Service Chiefs from including the North-Central, and by retaining the proactive Commandant General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Abubakar Audi, who has done well in just two years in office.

The CSOs boss further appreciated the president for his commitment in restoring peace and security in the nation.

Similarly, Johnny thanked Tinubu for having confidence in working with NSCDc CG Audi, who has over his two years in office to bring to bear his numerous potential on the organisation.

“Within just 2 years of leadership of the NSCDC Corps, Ahmed Audi led administration has justified the confidence reposed in him with lots of achievements to his name.

“The leading role that NSCDC plays in maintaining peace and security in Nigeria today proven that CG Ahmed Audi possess the capacity to lead Nigeria’s foremost paramilitary organization.

“As a step towards in strengthening the Safe School Initiative of the Federal Government, CG Audi established the Special Female Squad in all State Commands
and National Headquarters with aim of tackling security challenges especially abduction and kidnapping of school children for ransom.

“The CG has sharpened the skills and competencies of the personnel to effectively cope with security challenges in the country having strengthened the capacity and manpower needs of the Corps.

“Recently, the CG Commissioned a mass housing project for junior and intermediate Officers and handed over keys to the beneficiaries. In the same spirit, the new commands in few states of the federation were commissioned to boost the activities and performance of NSCDC Officers,” Johnny stated.

He added that the setting up of the CG’s Special Intelligence Squad in the history of NSCDC with the mandate to carry out overt and covert intelligence operations to nip crime in the bud was another major achievement.

Equally, he emphasised that other achievements of the CG included absolute commitment to the welfare of personnnel, insurance benefits, medical outreaches, protection of national critical assets and infrastructure, fight against economic saboteurs and oil-theft, among others.

The CSOs boss, however, called on Nigerians to support the administration of President Tinubu, whom he said has already started well in actualising his ‘Renewed Hope’ Agenda in every sector of the economy, adding that Tinubu will remain the best President in the history of Nigeria who will take Nigeria to where the country aspires to be.

He also urged Nigerians to shun crime, thereby remaining law-abiding citizens to enable government’s policies and businesses to thrive under the atmosphere of peace and tranquility, assuring the new Service Chiefs of total support of the CSOs under his leadership.
