Imo PDP Scared Of Own Shadow, Uzodimma – APC

The Imo State chapter of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) has dismissed the insinuations of harassment and intimidation levelled by the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement signed by the spokesperson, Cajethan Duke, the APC said the opposition party was embroiled in an internal crisis of confidence saying the PDP “as presently constituted is doomed with a terminal self-inflicted injury”.

Duke berated the PDP’s national spokesperson, Mr. Dabo Ologunagba for dragging Governor Hope Uzodimma into police petition filed by former seven officials of the party, saying it was unwarranted, mischievous, sheer helplessness, mischief and desperation.

Further, he said information at their disposal revealed that former members of the PDP (who have now joined the APC), took some stakeholders of the party to the police over allegations bordering on slander, saying Dabo was aware of this.

According to the APC spokesperson, records show that Imo people had long severed their relationship and partnership with PDP, saying the party last won governorship election in the state 20 years ago, (though Chief Emeka Ihedioha won four years ago on the PDP platform).

Duke said Imo people also have not reconciled their differences with PDP, as it was a party that had failed to reconcile itself.

Further, he said the Imo PDP gubernatorial candidate who doubles as the National Secretary of the party lacks capacity and acceptance saying “the National Secretary of PDP as governorship candidate in the forthcoming gubernatorial election does not possess or enjoy any credibility and public appeal to intimidate our party, the All Progressives Congress and our Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, hence this resort to crude politics of propaganda and blackmail.

“While we count down to the November 11, 2022 governorship election in Imo, our governor is still very busy and occupied with the business of governance, providing critical infrastructural needs of our people, re-engineering and stimulating the economic architecture of our state through civil service reforms, digital empowerment of our youths, and restoring people’s confidence in governance through strategic stakeholders’ engagement. These and many more are  assurances of our resounding victory at the polls come November 11”, with Sen Samuel Anyanwu as a guest.
