Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has emphasised that the inauguration of Optimus Bank will wield significant influence not only within the banking sector and established enterprises, but also among start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), contributing to the elevation of people’s living standards.

Speaking during the grand opening of the bank, the newest addition to Victoria Island’s financial landscape, Governor Sanwo-Olu underscored the institution’s potential to drive economic growth and bolster stability in Lagos State. He remarked, “Optimus Bank’s pivotal role extends beyond established organisations and the banking sector, encompassing start-ups and SMEs that hold the promise of lifting people out of poverty.”

He commended the bank’s dedication to customer-centricity, highlighting its genuine concern for its customers’ well-being and willingness to individually support each customer’s journey.

Governor Sanwo-Olu also expressed confidence that Optimus Bank’s services would revolutionise personal banking, and expressed the bank’s readiness to collaborate not only with the Lagos State government across various sectors, but also with the entirety of Nigeria in financial transactions.

Reaffirming the Lagos State government’s backing, he pledged to maintain a conducive business environment within Lagos State, ensuring that Optimus Bank thrives. He acknowledged Optimus Bank’s people-centric and consumer-focused approach.
