He said the MoU was aimed at complementing NBSC to achieve its mandate, and declared that 147 clubs under the district would execute the project.

Ahmed, however, called on members of the Rotary clubs in the 23 states under the district to donate blood to save lives.

The acting director-general of NBSC, Dr. Suberu, who was represented by a director from the commission, Dr. Olufemi, commended Rotary International for its intervention in the health sector.

Suberu said the MoU would help his commission to achieve its mandate in the 23 states to increase the blood drive in the benefiting states.

“We know that we cannot achieve this mandate without bringing stakeholders Rotary International is one of them.

“Because we are aware of the enormous work they have been doing in the area of health to serve humanity. We are also aware of your previous activities in the health sector in Nigeria, in the area of malaria,” he said.

Earlier, the District Chairperson, of the Special Project on Blood Donation Initiative, Rotn Khadijah Toyin Musa, admonished all Blood Donation Zonal Coordinators to work effectively with all clubs across the 23 states and solicited the support of Rotarians in the district to ensure better deliverables.
