The visitation panels to Gombe State University and the State Polytechnic, Bajoga have presented their reports to Governor Muhammadu Yahaya.

Both panels were inaugurated by the state governor on July 27 this year to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the two institutions and report the same to the state government.

The chairman of the visitation panel to Gombe State University, Barr Achana Gayus Yaro, while presenting his committee’s report, said in fulfilment of its mandate, his panel worked with commitment, resilience and patience towards meeting the state government’s expectation of coming up with a report that will guide future policies in respect to the institution.

He said the report presented is a robust work that emerged out of a careful and extensive deliberation based on mutual consultations, various submissions from stakeholders, engagement with development documents and physical observation among others.

While thanking Governor Yahaya for finding members of the panel worthy to serve in the first ever visitation panel to the institution, Barr. AchanaGayus  assured the government of finding a precise and all-encompassing report that is worthy of consideration.

Also, the chairman of the visitation panel to the State Polytechnic, Bajoga, Dr. Maijama’a Kallamu represented by the Dr. Umar Adamu highlighted some of the challenges militating against the growth of the institution to include; the absence of a governing council for the Polytechnic, lack of a conducive teaching and learning environment for staff and students.

Kallamu added that other challenges confronting the institution are insufficient monthly allocation to the Polytechnic, lack of clinic and the urgent need for the institution to move to its permanent site so TETfund which has enlisted the Polytechnic for intervention can begin to do the needful.
