In a statement issued by the secretariat of the women’s group, the occasion will feature the inauguration of the new national executive members including Hon. Irene Awunah-Ikyegh, president; Hon. Chinwe Olarewaju, first vice president; Hajia Fatima Zakari, 2nd vice president; Hon Esther Matins-Adetoye, 3rd vice president; and Dame Veronica Ngozi Osuhor, League national scribe.

The statement signed by the national secretary of the League, Barr.  Veronica Ngozi Osuhor, added that other activities of the day include fundraising for women empowerment, highlighting the goals and vision of the new leadership of the organisation, among others.

NILOVW is an all-female organisation founded in 1996 by Dr Esther Uduehi following the end of the fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, China in 1995 to help women play a larger role in government and public affairs in Nigeria in consonance with the Beijing Declaration and the Platform for Action.
