The Zamfara State government has announced its intention to prosecute a woman accused of aggravated assault against her 12-year-old stepdaughter in Tsafe town, Tsafe Local Government Area. This was revealed by Dr Nafisa Muhammad, the Commissioner for Women, Children, and Social Development, during her visit to the victim.

Dr. Muhammad highlighted the distressing case, stating, “We received a report that one Aisha Mustapha of Tsafe town brutally assaulted her 12-year-old stepdaughter by melting nylon on her body and forcing her to drink her urine.”

Expressing the government’s stance on such abuse, the Commissioner asserted, “The government of Zamfara State will not condone this kind of abuse, and soon, the accused woman will be taken to court to face the consequences of her actions.”

Dr Nafisa assured that the Zamfara State government, in collaboration with various non-governmental organizations in the state, would pursue the case rigorously to ensure that justice is served if the accused woman is found guilty.
