President Bola Tinubu is expected to attend the formal unveiling of Peace In South East-Project (PISE-P) and a grand reception for the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu in Bende, Abia State today.
His entourage will include senate president, Godswill Akpabio; speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas; chief of staff to the president, Femi Gbajabiamila; South East governors; and the Oni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
The chairperson of the media and communications committee of the organising committee of the event, Mary Ikoku, stated this, yesterday in a statement made available to LEADERSHIP in Umuahia, the state capital.
The statement said the guests include Obi of Onisha, Alfred Achebe; business moguls Aliko Dangote and Arthur Eze; SouthEast states and National Assembly members, politicians and the chairman and members of the state’s Traditional Rulers Council.
It also said the event is in appreciation of the unwavering commitment of the member representing Bende federal constituency to public service and outstanding contributions to the zone and the country in general.
“As the deputy speaker, he has played and still playing a pivotal role in shaping policies that address the needs and aspirations of the people of Bende local government, the zone and the country, at large,” it noted.
“PISE-P aims at not only ending insecurity in the zone through dialogue with the organisers and the key stakeholders, but also to set in motion the rebuilding of the zone using the PISE-P’s eight pillars as tools for recovery and reconstruction.”
It further noted that the PISE-P team and Kalu’s community take pride in the tireless efforts, consistent dedication and remarkable achievements he has demonstrated towards the development of the constituency.
