More than 20 persons were killed by bandits in an attack on Duma village last Wednesday.

Residents said yesterday that many bandits on motorcycles with sophisticated weapons operated unchallenged, terrorising locals and rustling livestock for several hours.

A source who hinted our correspondent on the attack under condition of anonymity said; “Over 20 of the victims died attempting to escape through a river. They got drowned in the process because of their inability to swim.  Many cows were rustled and some youths from the community were forced to lead the livestock out of the town.

“Some of the youths the bandits forced to lead the livestock are still with the terrorists and they are making demand of petrol in large quantity before they are released.
