Flavoured Stouts Make Entry In Nigerian Market

In a bold move to meet the evolving demands of a dynamic consumer base and redefine the stout landscape in Nigeria, foremost brewer, Nigerian Breweries Plc has unveiled the latest addition to its teeming portfolio, “Legend Twist.”

Legend Twist is a flavored Stout line extension of Legend Extra Stout, which made its debut, January 29, 2024.

With over 77 years in the industry, Nigerian Breweries Plc. is the pioneer and largest brewing company in Nigeria.

The company produces a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including beer, malt drinks, and soft drinks.

This innovative addition stands as a testament to the company’s commitment to brewing excellence and an acute awareness of the evolving tastes of the modern consumer.

Crafted with the intention to differentiate within the stout category and cater to the growing demand for premium and diverse taste repertoires, Legend Twist is poised to captivate the hearts and palates of consumers.

Nigeria’s beer market is experiencing a surge in craft breweries, as consumers seek unique and locally brewed options.

According to the African Development Bank (AfDB), the middle-income class makes up about 20% of the Nigerian population, which is estimated at more than 195 million, and these people are expected to pursue a quality lifestyle and consumer products.

Similarly, the volume of the Beer market is estimated to reach 2.1bn L by 2028 and the market is projected to experience a volume growth of 2.0% in 2025.

Market data indicates that beer is the most widely consumed alcoholic beverage with a 55% market share, followed by spirits (30%) and wine (15%).

Indeed, Legend Twist is a bold departure from the traditional stout experience, unlocking new dimensions of taste and style.

With a lower ABV, non-bitter profile, and a stylish presentation in sleek 33cl cans and 33cl RGB bottles, Legend Twist introduces a delightful fusion of fruity flavors – pineapple, lemon, and ginger.
