Customs Intercepts N42.4m Contrabands In Kebbi

A customs patrol team in charge of Joint Border Drills in the North West Zone has Intercepted contraband worth N42.429 million in four local government areas of Kebbi State.
The controller and coordinator in- charge of the zone, Mr Kola I. Oladeji, disclosed the development yesterday at a news briefing held in the area command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Birnin Kebbi in Kebbi State.

He said the items seized include; 971,500 packages of materials, 16 bales of used second- hand clothes, 95 cartoons of foreign spaghetti and 65 jerry cans of vegetable oil.
He put the seized items duty paid value as N32.088 million, N5.284 million, N1.192 million and N3.864 million amounting to a total of N42.429 million respectively.

According to him, the patrol team seized the items between January and February this year in Bagudo waterside, Yauri, Beli in Bunza and Ambursa Birnin Kebbi local government areas of Kebbi State.
Oladeji said the successes was as a result of the untiring efforts of the border patrol team and support of the people in the four LGAs.
