The country director of World Health Organisation (WHO), Walter Kezadi, stated this yesterday during the flag-off of the distribution of medical kits in Minna, the state capital.

Kezadi, who was represented by the Niger State coordinator of WHO, Suleiman Aliyu, described the immunisation exercise as very successful.

He said, “This is possible because the state Ministry of Primary Healthcare has been working very well with us. Niger State has created the enabling environment for us to immunise children against all diseases. In this round of immunisation scheduled for four days, over two million children have already been immunised against poliomyelitis in the state.”

The state commissioner for primary healthcare, Dr Ibrahim Dangana, expressed the determination of the government to adequately fund all primary healthcare activities in the state.

He said, “Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago recently approved the disbursement of funds to all rural health centres to procure drugs and other essential facilities so that people can get medical services at their door steps “.
