Nasarawa Varsity Doctorate Students Seek Collaboration With Industry

The School of postgraduate studies at Nasarawa State University’s Institute of Governance and Development Studies (IGDS), has celebrated the achievements of the Security and Strategic Studies PhD Course 5, stressing collaboration between university lecturers and industry practitioners.

Addressing newsmen in Abuja yesterday during the dinner night and award, a representative of the vice-chancellor, Prof. Solomon Bala Mohammed, Prof. Andrew Zamani, director of the institute, emphasised the vice chancellor’s high regard for the class and its contributions to the university’s growth.
Mohammed commended the institute’s impact on society and highlighted the significant increase in PhD graduates during his tenure.

He further announced the approval of postgraduate fellowships to facilitate collaboration and encouraged the PhD graduates to take advantage of this opportunity to contribute to the institute’s ongoing success.

He noted that the event also marked a milestone with the introduction of a mandatory three-month internship for subsequent admissions in various programs.
He said this initiative aims to enhance students’ real-world experiences and bridge the gap between academia and industry.

He expressed both joy and a sense of responsibility towards Security and Strategic Studies PhD Course 5, citing their journey, challenges, and achievements.
He acknowledged the director of IGDS, Prof. Zamani Andrew for his unwavering support and commitment to excellence.
