Governor Sule said President Bola Tinubu is doing his best to address the hardship being currently faced by Nigerians.

“At the state level, we have gone round the 13 local government areas to distribute palliatives and we decided to do the same across all the tertiary institutions for students to also benefit,” he said.

Earlier, the state commissioner for humanitarian affairs, Margaret Elayo, commended the governor for the gesture, saying it was a commitment to ensure that students were not left out of the palliatives to cushion the current hardship.

She explained that 4,000 students of the Federal University of Lafia,  2,000 students of Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic Lafia, 500 students of College of Agriculture, Science and Technology as well as 500 students of the School of Nursing and Midwifery, all got two bags of 7.5kg rice each.

Elayo said that in all, 7,000 students benefitted from the 14,000 bags distributed.

She said that the state government was committed to nurturing and empowering students as future leaders.
