Super Eagles and Nantes winger Moses Simon has undergone successful surgery following injury he sustained during Eagles international friendlies.

Simon fractured his left leg during Nigeria’s 2-0 friendly defeat against Mali at the Grand Stade de Marrakech, Morocco on Tuesday.

Simon had to be stretchered off the pitch after colliding with Mali goalkeeper Mamadou Samassa in the 35th minute, was subsequently ruled out of action for the rest of the season.

The 28 year old who was impressive in Super Eagles second place finish at the recently concluded AFCON in Ivory Coast is expected to begin immediate rehabilitation with the Club wishing him quick recovery. The former Levante star has scored three goals with six assists for Nantes this season.

The current scenario means Simon will be in fitness race for Super Eagles world cup qualifier against South Africa and Benin Republic on June 3rd and 10th respectively.
