LEADERSHIP gathered that the bandits stormed the community in large numbers at 6pm yesterday, shooting sporadically before whisking their victims away.

A source confirmed that the abductees whose number he could not ascertain were marched into the forest.

Hon Yahaya Musa Dan Salio, who represents Kakangi Ward in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, confirmed the incident.
Although he said they were yet to confirm the number of those abducted, he however said they were in their dozens.

“I just received a call from the area that dozens of my constituents have been abducted. The bandits surrounded the village and as we speak, they are still there, taking their victims into the forest, the situation is dire,” he said.

Dan Salio said most of the victims were men and suggested that there could be casualties, stressing the need for the authorities to deploy more security checkpoints in the area to restrict the movement of bandits.
