Nigerian singer and dancer, Peter Okoye, has urged fans to stop comparing him with his twin brother, Paul Okoye or any other artiste.

In a recent video message, Mr P said he now wants to focus fully on his solo career. He asked fans to avoid constant comparisons that distract him from his work.

He stressed that he is his own person. He said he wants to be judged on his own music. And to build success on his own terms.

His words:

“Stop comparing me with my brother or anyone else—enough of the comparisons. I want to do me. There is no one like me. I want to do my thing and chop my money.”

Mr P claimed that his brief reunion with Rudeboy affected the pace of his solo career.

Speaking in an interview with Cool FM Lagos, he said his social media following was rising fast before the reunion. He claimed he was gaining about 100,000 Instagram followers daily at the time.

He also said that, after Davido, he and Don Jazzy were among the biggest African names on social media at the time.

Mr P added that his growth slowed after the reunion, which he believes changed his momentum.

“Before the reunion, I used to gain 100,000 followers every day. After Davido, it was Don Jazzy and me who were the biggest African celebrities on social media. But after the reunion, everything just dropped,” he added.

The singer said his career has lasted nearly 30 years. He believes this long journey deserves more recognition than he has received so far.

“I have been in the game for nearly 30 years, and I am still trending to date. I deserve more respect,” he concluded.
