The Anglican Bishop of Okrika Diocese in Rivers State, Rt Rev Enoch Atuboyedia, has said that Nigeria is still a united country due to the grace of God.

Atuboyedia spoke yesterday while addressing journalists at Okuru-Ama community in Port Harcourt City local government area of the state ahead of the diocese’s forthcoming 3rd session of the 7th synod with the theme: “I See Grace.”

The three-day event begins on Thursday May 2 and ends on Sunday, May 5, at Saint James’ Church, Ogoloma in Okrika local government area of the state.

The bishop stated that it is the same grace of God that made it possible for good things to continue to come out of Rivers State despite the heightened political climate in the state.

He said: “As a country called Nigeria, I believe that we are still one undivided country because of the grace of God. Yes, we have our differences; yes, we may have challenges; challenges of insecurity, all the problems we have in this country, the only thing that is keeping us is the grace of God.

“When we consider the political climate in Rivers State, all that has been happening in this state, the only thing that keeps us going and we can turn back and see that good things are still coming out of Rivers State, the only reason why good things are happening is because of the grace of God.

“As Ijaw people, especially, as Wakrike people, it is the grace of God that is sustaining us; it is the grace of God that is keeping us; it is the grace of God that is unifying us.”
