He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his confirmation as the substantive boss of the hospital.

Speaking to journalists in Benin City yesterday after assuming office, Ugbodaga, a consultant maxillofacial surgeon and former chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Edo State, expressed satisfaction with the establishment of the hospital in the South-South geopolitical zone by the Federal Government of Nigeria thereby bringing the zone at par with other zones with similar specialist hospitals.

He said, “When fully operational, I am very hopeful that the hospital will guarantee access to specialist quality healthcare services by the good people of Edo State, the contiguous states and other members of the Nigerian public and put a seal of happiness on the lives of many Nigerians, particularly those from the South-South geopolitical zone who constitute the immediate catchment area of the hospital.”

He said President Tinubu has placed a very high premium in the well-being of all Nigerians through collaborative efforts among all health professionals to ensure that the poor health indices in Nigeria are reversed.
