Some indigent children in Ketti Community, a satellite of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have been awarded scholarship by a faith based non-governmental Foundation, Sir David Osunde Foundation.

The gesture is part of activities to commemorate this year’s world children’s day.

The Founder of the organisation, Sir Davie Osunde in a message to the special Holy Mass, at St John Catholic Church, Ketti said less attention is given to children in the rural areas unlike their counterparts in the urban areas.

Osunde said the scholarship and celebration with the children would enable them discover their skills and talents and be responsible in the future.

A missionary priest with the catholic church who is also a lecturer with Veritas University Abuja, Rev Father Anthony Amadi urged good spirited Nigerians to emulate the gesture by assisting the less privilege to reduce the sufferings in the society.

‘’Today is marking the birthday of sir David Osunde, since he sponsors children in many schools, he is also using the o[opportunity to celebrate the children, he loves them. With the gift of children and Sir Osunde, we say thank you lord, let Him continue to shower more blessings.

“Sir Osunde is very generous, he is not using his wealth for himself alone, so he is touching many lives. If people can learn from him, our country will change because we are so selfish and self-cantered that we have not been able to reach out to other people, if we show love, the country will be better.’’ Rev Father Amadi stated.
