The Yobe State governor, Hon Mai Mala Buni, has commended the commitments of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the fight against insecurity in the northeast and the country as a whole.
A statement issued by the director general Press Affairs and Media to the Governor, Alhaji Mamman Mohammed said Buni in his Sallah message to the people, stated that “The peace, security and prosperity of the country is paramount to every citizen.
The governor further said, “His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR has shown great commitment to fight insecurity. He should be supported and encouraged to succeed.
“We should therefore intensify prayers to our leaders to be guided right for increased peace, security, and prosperity of our dear country,” he said.
Buni charged the people of the state and the North East to continue to support and cooperate with the security operatives.
He urged the people to promote the virtues of peaceful coexistence, love, and sacrifice being lessons of the eid.
“These virtues should go beyond the Sallah season for us to build a peaceful, strong, and united country,” Buni said.
The governor commended the security agencies for their commitment to ensuring peace reigns across the state.
He also appreciated the people for their resilience in rebuilding their communities and recovering their means of livelihood.
“As the rainy season commences, we should engage in agriculture to produce our food needs.
“Our administration would soon launch a massive agricultural revolution to make agriculture attractive, productive, and profitable to meet our food requirement and export others for economic development.
“You should therefore take advantage of this programme and key into the development agenda of the administration.
The governor urged people to use the Eid-el-Kabir period by praying for the state and country as a whole.
The deputy governor of Yobe State Hon Idi Barde Gubana (Wazirin Fune) who led government officials for the two raka’at prayer at the Yobe Mosque eid ground Damaturu charged people to remain focus as the current economic hardship is not only peculiar to Yobe or Nigeria but the world in general.
Gubana has while speaking to newsmen shortly after the prayers charged Muslims faithful to inculcate the virtues and teachings of the Holy prophet by showing love and tolerance in addition to the intensification of prayers for better society.
“As Muslims, we must intensify prayers as the current hardship being experienced is not only peculiar to Nigeria but global. We must also pray for improved security and bumper harvest in the country.”
Other top government functionaries who attended the two raka’at prayers included Speaker of the Yobe state House of assembly, the state Grand khadi, commissioners, members of the state and national House of assembly, permanent secretaries as well as heads of boards and parastatals.
