LEADERSHIP Sunday reports that the attitude is more pronounced at the grassroots, with parents and guardians sending their children to farms instead of making sure they attend school.

State Commissioner for Education, Jamlila Dahiru stated this while inspecting school attendance during a tour of about three local governments – Alakeri, Dass and Tafawa Balewa.

She said that the exercise is part of the routine monitoring of schools to ascertain the condition of the learning process towards ensuring quality education in the state

The Commissioner also warned school teachers to discharge their primary assigned responsibilities diligently for the smooth running of the education system in the state.
