Executive secretary and chief executive officer of the agency, Chiedozie Egwuonwu stated this at a one-day capacity building for local government officers in charge of basic health-care provision programme implementation in the state.

He pledged to change the narrative in line with the current administration’s paradigm shift for accountability and fairness to all and urged the officers to ensure funds for the programme were judiciously used.

Egwuonwu, therefore, charged them to exhibit commitment and dedication in the provision of quality primary health-care for the people in line with the administration’s health sector agenda.

In a presentation entitled “Basic Health-care Provision Fund Implementation Protocol”, James Kelechi of the National Health Insurance Agency said the programme was aimed at achiving universal health coverage.
