Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has said his administration gives preference to investors with workable plan for funding of their proposed project in the state.
Otti stated this when he hosted a delegation of Fungstai Engineering Company Nig. Ltd led by the director of projects, Cyril Christopher on a business visit in the state.
“Once you come up with that kind of proposal, you have put yourselves ahead of others. Even in housing estates, we have something like that,” he said.
He urged them to look beyond sports infrastructure to explore other sectors like real estate where the state is planning to develop smart cities and estates for the citizens in the Diaspora,
Speaking earlier Christopher said they came to present a proposal for the building of a 40,000 FIFA standard capacity stadium with foundation expandable to 80,000 in the state.
The director, who also said they were interested in rebuilding Nsulu Games Village, added that the company is 70 percent owned by Nigerians with offices across the globe.
“The company is currently developing the multi-billion dollar new FESTAC City in Lagos State” he explained and thanked the governor for giving them the opportunity for the meeting.
Another high point of the meeting was the presentation of the conceptual designs of the proposed stadium and sports complex by the project manager, Al Jar Makani Bassam to Otti.
