Executive Chairman, Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (KBSPWA), Faruku Musa Enabo, has said that he bought the 225 motorcycles and 60 cars which he donated to the state’s APC Campaign Council for the re-election of Governor Nasir Idris in 2027 from his personal savings, from contracts given to him by Governor Idris and other friends outside Kebbi State.
He made this clarification in a telephone interview with a LEADERSHIP reporter on Monday, who made an enquiry over the source of the purchase of the donated items to Governor Idris.
He said, “Rightly, I am not in Kebbi now; I am in Abuja after the flag-off of the Presidential Campaign in Kaduna. But I tell you on the phone, just like I said it at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi before Governor Idris and other politicians during the handing over of these items, that I bought them out of what I realised from the contracts given to me by Kaura Gwandu and other friends.”
“Besides, everyone in Kebbi State knows me as a businessman in the country and abroad. From this, I saved what I gained, coupled with the contracts I got, gathered it all and purchased these items which I donated to His Excellency, Governor Nasir Idris, for his campaign in 2027,” Enabo added.
He further refuted claims that the money used in buying those items donated to the governor was from the N10 billion given to his agency last year by the government to complete the year’s Hajj exercise.
He noted that many of his friends and colleagues have assisted him with funds to facilitate campaigns ahead of 2027 for his bosses.
He advised people to always concentrate on the facts rather than rumours to clarify issues.
