The incident, which started around Berger Roundabout, quickly spread to the Wuse Market axis of Abuja.

Though the police authorities were yet to react to the incident officially, reports on social media claimed some members of the Islamic group were injured while police tried to disperse them with teargas.

Also, there were reports of the group burning down some vehicles belonging to the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

When contacted by LEADERSHIP, FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, asked our correspondent to give her more time to call and verify but was yet to call back at press time.
