Police operatives have clashed with the members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), also known as Shiites, which has resulted in the burning of police vehicles in Wuse District of Abuja, on Sunday.

The incident, which started around Berger Roundabout, quickly spread to the Wuse Market axis of Abuja.

Though the police authorities were yet to react to the incident officially, reports on social media claimed some members of the Islamic group were injured while police tried to disperse them with teargas.

Also, there were reports of the group burning down some vehicles belonging to the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
