The minister gave the assurance while flagging off the distribution of rice and fertiliser to the people of the state under President Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Grassroots Empowerment” in the Kwandere community of Lafia LGA of Nasarawa State.

The state police affairs minister, who acknowledged the economic challenges in the country, said the president is doing all he can to address the situation.

She urged Nigerians to support and pray for the president in his ongoing efforts to steer the country toward development and growth.

She explained that the bags of rice and fertiliser were a gesture from President Tinubu aimed at mitigating the suffering of the vulnerable in the state.

The minister, who also offered cash donations to the vulnerable, especially women, at the occasion, said the gesture was also a way to mark her one year in office anniversary.

According to her, two trucks of 25kg of rice and NPK 20-10-10 fertiliser each would be distributed to the less-privileged residents of the state.

She said the rice and fertiliser distribution exercise was held simultaneously in Lafia, Nassarawa Eggon and Karu LGAs as collection points for each of the state’s three senatorial districts.

She assured the people of the state of her determination to always protect their interests at the national level by ensuring they get what is due to them.

She thanked Governor Abdullahi Sule for his continuous support since she was appointed into office.

Also speaking at the occasion, the national president of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) and the chairman of Lafia LGA, Aminu Mua’zu-Maifata, thanked President Tinubu and the minister for their efforts at ameliorating the economic challenges being experienced by Nigerians due to the removal of the petroleum subsidy.

On his part, the Emir of Kwandere commended the president and minister for identifying with the poor and the vulnerable.

He lauded the minister for remembering her people and struggling to meet their needs while urging other political officeholders to emulate her.
