Successive governments in Abia State have failed to deliver democracy dividends, thus leaving the state without quality, durable and standard infrastructure and services over the years.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy governorship candidate in the state, Barr (Mrs) Gloria Akara, stated this at Ohambele Ndoki in Ukwa East local government area of the state.

Mrs Akara spoke after the governorship candidate, High Chief Ikechi Emenike presented her to the people of her local government area following her official unveiling about two weeks ago in Item.
The wife of the president-general of Ndoki Union in Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and the state as well as the founder of Heritage Ministries Inc, Rev. Felix Akara, lamented that commerce and business had fizzled out from the state.
Akara, who said the people were getting poorer and poorer, however noted that “Abia can be better than she is today. She deserves much more than she is getting. Abia can manifest with new transformations.”
While noting that Emenike’s emergence is well-seasoned for the time, she added: “I see him as one who is primed to bring change from the basic to the truly knotty issues of state and governance.”
She said she deeply appreciated the APC leader in the state for choosing her for the position and called on the people to embrace the necessary peace and unity that are required to accelerate the vision.
