He gave the challenge at yesterday’s opening of the 2024 TRADOC Nigeria Army Library Day study period at the Tradoc auditorium.

The Tradoc Nigeria Army Library Day theme: “Enhancing Research Potential and Reading Culture of the Nigeria Army Personnel Through Effective Use of Library.”

Major General Aligbe explained that the command, under his leadership, would continue to support the School facilities in the Cantonment and improve the educational systems by providing reading and teaching aids to the schools.

According to the Commandant, Tradoc, as a research and training arm of the Nigeria Army, will support the educational institutions within the Cantonment.
The command is committed to improving the study of the Cantonment’s students and pupils.

Similarly, the Tradoc Commandant charged the school management to reintroduce the school debate and literary club competition among the students of the Cantonment and other schools in the state to identify talents among the performing students in the state.

He posited that these will go a long way toward improving the performances of their pupils and students in the pursuit of their studies.

He disclosed that sixty thousand exercise books and writing materials were donated last year as part of the command’s support for improving the educational standard in the Cantonment. In contrast, nineteen thousand learning and reading materials were donated this year.

He then urged the school Management to ensure that the materials were equally distributed to the primary, Nursery, and secondary schools and pupils across the schools in the Cantonment.

In her paper delivered at the occasion, the guest speaker, Dr. Sadiat Salau, described our library’s lack of reading materials as painful.

The Nigeria Army Library Day 2024 highlight was donating exercise books and other learning materials to the school Management in the Cantonment.
