A former chief judge of Gombe State, Justice Mu’azu Abdulkadir Pindiga, has expressed concern over the slow progress on the exploration of Kolmani oil wells located in the Pindiga Emirate of the state and a part of Bauchi State.

Pindiga in an interview with journalists yesterday in Gombe said the project is too crucial to be toyed with by the federal government.

According to him, the Kolmani project is an economic initiative that could improve the economy and revenue of the nation when completed as well as provide jobs to many citizens.

He however said he remains optimistic that President Bola Tinubu would proceed with the ‘gigantic project’ especially with the state governor Inuwa Yahaya’s recent meeting with the president regarding the oil exploration.

Meanwhile, the former chief judge sympathised with the residents of Borno State over the recent devastating flood and praised the federal government for bringing succour to the victims with a ‘whopping sum of N3 billion’ saying it was a rare show of generosity and compassion by the president.

He appealed to authorities to take right measures to avert similar flooding disasters in the country.
